The Centers for Faith and Opportunity Initiatives (CFOI) at the U.S. Department of Labor engages faith-based and community members to encourage their participation in policies, partnerships, and funding opportunities. CFOI also works to minimize regulatory burdens that interfere with First Amendment freedoms.
CFOI understands and recognizes that faith-based and nonprofit organizations provide vital partnerships for social services needed for a healthy economy. This viability cannot be accomplished without direct participation from the faith-based stakeholders. So often, faith-based organizations are on the front lines in assisting victims of human trafficking, drug addiction, homelessness and more.
To support these faith-based organizations, CFOI is working to establish policies that protect religious freedom in the workplace and encourage faith-based and nonprofit organizations to participate in policy input, federal grants, and related programs that serve the common good.
This Administration is committed to ending exploitative and abusive labor practices at home and abroad. CFOI wants to make sure that faith-based organizations can access all of the Department of Labor's resources as we work together to end labor trafficking.
CFOI is participating in this online dialogue to learn more about your specific needs as they relate to the fight against forced labor and human trafficking. Ideas and comments gathered from this online dialogue will be implemented to improve the CFOI's policy and outreach strategies. We look forward to hearing from you!
